OfficeJet J4680?

Asked by GameKing505

Ok so I recently purchased an Officejet J4680 wireless printer and have it set up through my network so I can print anywhere in my house. I use Ubuntu 8.04 Hardy Heron by the way. So I wanted to have scanning capability so I donwloaded the HPLIP gui and whatnot. When I load it up, it says that the J4680 series is unsupported. Is there anything else I can do do maybe try and get it to work, like download a driver or whatever? I really would like to be able to scan.

Also, how often does HPLIP update? Can I expect to see some support in an update maybe?

HPLIP does not currently support the OfficeJet J4680. We'll be adding support in a future release of HPLIP.

Sorry for any inconvenience.
