We don't actively test on Gentoo. However you could do a search such as:

https://answers.launchpad.net/hplip/+questions?field.search_text=gentoo&field.sort=RELEVANCY&field.sort-empty-marker=1&field.actions.search=Search&field.language=en&field.language-empty-marker=1&field.status=OPEN&field.status=NEEDSINFO&field.status=ANSWERED&field.status=SOLVED&field.status=EXPIRED&field.status-empty-marker=1

For some other users that have been working on this and for some possible hints on resolving this. I would appreciate that if there is a resolution that you could post it and I'll create a how to for Gentoo.

Sorry for the inconvenience.

Aaron
