installing a printer on to linux

Asked by fiona

I have just bought an acer aspire one netbook for my son which has an operating system of Linpus Linux. I have tried installing a HP PSC1510 onto the system but we are unable to find the correct operating system in the list provided. Could you please let me know what I should do.

Thanks for your interest in using HP multifunction devices in Linux.

The HPLIP project works actively and directly with various Linux distributions to support the highest number of printers and Linux distros and versions. Linpus does not currently include a version of HPLIP and we are actively investigating how to support HPLIP on Linpus to better serve the needs of our customers. We consider this a high priority and hope to have support for Linpus in the very near future.

HPLIP takes the needs and requests of our customers and users very seriously and we apologize for any inconvenience.

This is not a typical "form" post. However there have been so many requests for support in Linpus that it's easier to respond to each request with the same information.

We appreciate your support and feedback.

Thanks for contacting HPLIP!

We're recently released a package for the Acer Aspire One (Linpus) system. You can get more information about the package here:

For instructions on downloading and installing go here:

We appreciate any feedback and apologize for the delay in this solution.

Thanks for your support of HPLIP--we appreciate it.
