double sided printing on HP C7280

Asked by Charles

Hi,

recently I tried to print double-sided on my relatively new C7280 printer, So with hplip device manager 2.8.6b I changed Duplex to "Two sided (long edge)" and Double-sided printing to "Long edge (standard)" (seems superfluous to me, why 2 options?). All other options are default, but the printer does not print double-sided, just single sided. I am pretty sure that some weeks ago, when the printer was newly installed, I have seen it printing a double-side test print, but it refuses to do now. Any idea?

Regards,

Charles

Thanks Aaron, your info request solved the problem:-). It was acroread, which was overwriting the double-sided option in its "properties".

Well, maybe the module is not installed? Mine is a C7280, not C7200, and it has a removable dark-grey module at the rear side of the printer which takes care for the paper reversing. It sticks out, so it is easy recognisable.
