HPLIP colour correction Ubuntu 16.10 for CP1215

Hello,
I have updated to HPLIP 3.16.11 on Ubuntu 16.10 4.8.0.34 generic packages. CUPS and plug in are installed.
I have tried a number of colour correction options from the HPLIP settings menu (ICM, non-ICM, Argyll...) but the resulting image comes out very pixelated with very different output from what I can see on the PC display. As though there is no colour correction present.
Text printed in black ink comes out perfect though.

I would like to know whether something is missing/wrong so that I can have "natural" looking colour pictures printed with this
