printer driver for HP photosmart C6180

Asked by Nick Cox

I have just bought an Acer Aspire One laptop and am trying to download a printer driver for my wireless HP Photosmart C6180. The installer asks me which version of the Linux OS I am using - I have no idea, but none of the ones offered seems to work. What am I doing wrong? Does anyone know which version is loaded onto this computer, and if so, how to move forward with the download without getting error messages???

Nick,

The HPLIP Photosmart C6180 is supported by HPLIP.

http://hplip.sourceforge.net/models/photosmart/photosmart_c6100_series.html

Please run in a terminal:

cat /etc/issue

and post the output.

Thanks!

Aaron

We're recently released a package for the Acer Aspire One (Linpus)
system. You can get more information about the package here:

http://hplipopensource.com/node/324

For instructions on downloading and installing go here:

http://hplipopensource.com/hplip-web/install/manual/distros/linpus.html

We appreciate any feedback and apologize for the delay in this solution.

Thanks for your support of HPLIP--we appreciate it.

Aaron
