I have an HP Laserjet 4 MP Plus and a HP Photosmart 3300 - every time the computer is restarted the IP addresses of the printers have changed. I waste a lot of time resetting them. How can they be found and stored automatically without having to go through this rigmarole?

What is especially time wasting is that the software search will not find the Laserjet address automatically, and I have to search by entering IP addresses manually and searching one address at a time.

Any answers please?

Maurice

The best solution is don't use DHCP for the printer.

Thanks Daniel

Problem is I don't know what DHCP is or how to disable it. Can you tell me?

Go under printer menu and disable DHCP and use IP manualy.
I don't know the printer you have to surf in the menu.

Maurice,

You'll want to configure the printer IP directly (rather than letting DHCP configure the ip). This depends on the printer on how this is done, you can find the steps in your product manual or you can find the manuals available on http://www.hp.com

Hope this helps.

Aaron
