Unable to connect MFP M26nw to Ubuntu 16.04

Asked by Daniel

There is any way to install an HP Laserjec Pro MFP M26nw to Ubuntu 16.04?

I'm using hplip 3.16.11 and didn't recognize it. If i try to force printer installation, no MFP M26nw driver available, and the recomended one (MFP M125a) once installed shows printer status "inactive".

The printer is succesfully installed at two Windows 10 and a couple of Android 6.0.1 Mobile Phones

Regards

I had the same problem with my printer, I installed the hplip 3.16 but after installing I ran the hp-plugin then I installed the printer thought printers without hp-setup. It worked for me.

Thanks Gregory but it didn't work for me.
If I try to install thought printers, there's no drivers availables for my printer, and no one is able to work with it (Mark as recomended MFP 125a but once installed shows printer as Inactive)

I can print on such a printer now.

- downloaded hplip from hp
- installed it
- sudo hd-setup
- doesn't find my printer within the network
- BUT: I do have an older M125a available, so I selected this one
- a binary plugin from HP gets installed
- afterwards: Change the ip address within the printer to the one of the M26nw
- printing the test page works ok
- scanning doesn't work
