HP PSC1410

Asked by orbiter-thg

High Folks,

actually I try to install my HP PSC1410 (Installed on Win XP SP3) on my Suse Linux 10.3 and already used hplip-2.8.6 Automatic installation. After install I tried to install over -->Yast-->Printers-->add
I'm using samba-server. After lookup there is the correct Network-Name of my Printer. When I'm asked to specified my Printer I only find the HP PSC1400 in the Printerlist. The printtest doesnt work.
Do you see any Chance for me to use my Printer in my Network? Is there an other driver availible?

If possible answer in german. Thanks

With best regards

Thorsten

hp-check -t should work if hplip is installed..this makes me think the install didn't finish correctly.

Also HPLIP doesn't support accessing a shared windows printer. For doing that you can do a google search such as:

http://www.google.com/search?q=share+printer+from+windows+to+suse+10.3&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8&aq=t&rls=com.ubuntu:en-US:unofficial&client=firefox-a

Or ask in the Suse forums:

http://forums.opensuse.org/

This is not an issue with HPLIP per se, the configuration you are doing is not supported.

Sorry we couldn't help more.
