HPLIP

communication error F4240

I am running mandriva linux powerpack spring 2008. I upgraded to hplip 2.8.6. I have been trying different configurations to try to get it working. every few seconds or so I get a communication error. The printer is HP F4240. According to the list this printer should work. The printer will not even begin to print.

It seems that Hplip was the problem. I deleted the printer, and un-installed Hplip. Restarted the computer and used the mandriva printer set up utility. after doing this the printer worked
