The LaserJet P1005 is supported by HPLIP 2.8.2 and later.

You'll want to install the latest hplip from our website http://hplip.sf.net

However with Suse 10 HPLIP needs to be installed manually--you can find the manual install instructions here:

http://hplip.sourceforge.net/install/manual/distros/novell.html
