HPLIP failed to Compile

The compiling software isn't fully installed. You might be missing g++. Although if possible run

./install.py

in the hplip source directory and use the automatic installer which will install all of the hplip require dependencies, and install hplip.

I do NOT have the ubuntu source disk on the system

Actually the problem is that the cd-rom repository is enabled.

Click System > Admin > Software Sources

make sure the cd-rom is unchecked. Click close, then reload. And then run the installer again.

Hi there,

I am having the same issue on an EeePC.

MAKE did not work, but the workaround ./install.py worked fine.

On my side the problem was clearly identified in the logs generated, and it was because my Folder name was having spaces in it.... *|!&*|&|*# !!!
