C6280 photocard mounting

Asked by DickAngus

Kubuntu 32bit - 8.04 Ethernet to a router
MiniMac OS-x 10.3 - wireless to the router
HPLIP 2.8.2
Photosmart C6280 - Ethernet to a router (I am using the C6100 driver selection as a 6200 was not offered)

Both systems can see the device, print, and scan. Came up very easy and clean. When I insert a photocard and select the save option on the device menu only the Mac shows as a choice. There are no devices shown on the Kubuntu machine when I do "lsusb." In HPLIP, if I try to use the photocard function, I get a message that these devices must be mounted as a USB mass storage device by following my distribution's instructions. I'm pretty sure that these worked under 7.10 with an automount. I can't find any directions on how to get these devices mounted. I can always use a USB cable to my computer's ports, but the printer is a much easier device to use with the cards plugged into it. Can anyone explain what I need to do? TIA

Actually this device is is not supported by HPLIP for mounting and using the hp-unload function.

It's not clear on our website right now and we're working on improving that.

The best way is to mount the card is to use the USB mass storage mounting feature.

Sorry for any inconvenience and thanks for your support of HPLIP.

Aaron
