No color from Color LaserJet 2605

Asked by Greg Deitrick

I cannot get color output from my Color LaserJet 2605dn.
I am using Debian stable, Cups 1.2.7, and HPLIP 1.6.10.
It is installed as a network printer.
It is not clear to me what model to choose. The closest choices
seem to be:
  HP Color LaserJet 5 - CUPS+Gutenprint v5.0.0
  HP Color LaserJet 2500 - CUPS+Gutenprint v5.0.0
  HP Color LaserJet 4500 - CUPS+Gutenprint v5.0.0
But for some reason I get only greyscale options for the
Color Model in the Cups Set Printer Options page.

I do get color output if I use the
  Generic postscript color printer rev4
option.

If possible please try the latest HPLIP. HPLIP 1.6.10 is very old...

Thanks!

That version comes with Debian stable, and I did not see any backports. But the automatic installer worked perfectly for printing (missing dependencies for fax and scan, but those are not important to me right now). Have color and duplexing. Thanks.

Helo,
I wrote a question about my CP1217 today in the morning. This problem was a Hardware problem. But now my printer works but there is no colored output. I use Ubuntu 9.10, hplip 3.9.12 and the driver "HP Color LaserJet CP1215 Foomatic/foo2HP".
So is there a possibility to solve the problem?
Kind regards and many thanks
Gerhard
