HPLIP

Slow printing on ubuntu 7.10

Hi,

I have a laser-jet 5000N network printer installed in an ubuntu 7.10 system. For some reasons i was not able to instal the official HP driver and i am using the default one supplied from the system. The problem that i have is that the printing process takes too long or sometimes the printer does not even print due to bad data transmission. The printer works perfect under windows. Is there any known bug for this case?

How come you can't use the HPLIP driver? We only support using the driver...try running

hp-setup -i

to configure the printer.
