Prints one line then ejects paper until it runs out

Asked by Irish

After updating to Ubuntu 16.04 from 14.04, the printer only prints one line which always begins: %!PS-Adobe-3.0
The rest of the line varies from one time to the next. I have installed HPLIP and it looks like everything is as it should be - until I try to print.

This computer is an HP with 5.3 GiB memory, AMD A4-33400 APU with Radeon(tm) HD Graphics x2 Processor, Gallium 0.4 on AMD SUMO2(DRM 2.43.0,LLVM 3.8.0) Graphics, 64-bit OS, and 25.2 GB disk.

This printer worked fine without HPLIP until I changed from the Ubuntu 14.04 to Ubuntu 16.04 OS. All I had done before was plug it in via a USB cable.

I found a recommendation to install HPLIP when I first found I couldn't print and did so. Before I try to print, I check HPLIP and it's device manager shows everything green in the printer control - until I try to print.

Is there anything else you need to know to help me get this sorted out?

Hi,

You are required to use the updated version of HPLIP-3.16.7.

Download and install the latest HPLIP from http://hplipopensource.com/hplip-web/install/install/index.html.

If the issue continues provide installation logs which are present in hp-3.16.7 directory of the format "hplip-install_Fri-22-Jul-2016_10:53:12.log".

Thanks,
Kritika

Hi,
Are you still seeing this issue? Can you try print functionality in the latest hplip driver 3.18.9 and update?
