The downloading for the printer plugin won't download and install- tried many times.

Asked by Chet Valdes

after installation, was setting it up and was prompted to download plugin, choose first option, but it failed and gave an error message. I searched online and found others with the same problem. Tried to follow instructions for using terminal to manually install, and it looked like it did download it, but when I restarted the program, it still said plugin needed.
I ran the diagnostic and got a warning that my version of Linux Mint Cinnamon (17.3) wasn't supported? The Linux kernal is 4.2.0-25, the latest one. I just want it to work with my MFP CM2320.

Hi,

Can you try below steps.

1) Install the latest HPLIP from http://hplipopensource.com/hplip-web/install/install/index.html .

2) Apply the changes mentioned in https://bugs.launchpad.net/hplip/+bug/1510950.
i.e Replace/merge updated "password.py" file from comment #25 and "utils.py" file from #21 into (/usr/share/hplip/base) directory.

3) Now install the plugin by running below command
hp-plugin
