Installer can't find a plugin

Asked by luisjaime

Good day for you.

I have a Lenovo G40-30, the operating system is a 64bits fedora 23. I downloaded the hplip-3.15.11.run for the printer mfp m125a but initially it never finish the installation. Next I downloaded the hplip...gz for to compile, I compile it, I install it and not have problems. However, when plug the usb to the printer appear a message that say "Driver plugin required", I do click in next button, next, ... and appear the Licence Agreement, I do "yes", download a file, it is preparing to install 42 files but never finish the task. I see the directory ./hplip/plugin-tmp but don't exists some file related with the printer. Next I tried selecting the second choice in the "driver plugin installation" dialog but here find a file .run for the pluggin.

Where I can find this file .run for my printer? It's related with the topic 174059, I visited the site but don't exist the page.

Thanks.

Hi

You can download the plugin file hplip-3.15.11-plugin.run from here
https://www.openprinting.org/download/printdriver/auxfiles/HP/plugins/hplip-3.15.11-plugin.run

Run command 'sh hplip-3.15.11-plugin.run --keep --ig' in terminal to install the plugin. If you are facing any issue with the installation please provide the terminal output of the command here.

Thanks,
Goutam

Hello,

Please take the files from https://bugs.launchpad.net/hplip/+bug/1510950 and merge/replace them into /usr/share/hplip/base directory and let me know if this fixes the problem.

Thanks,
 Sanjay
