8615e. Wifi not connecting

Have followed carefully the hplip instructions for installing 3.15.11.In Ubuntu 14.04 and Mint 17.2
When I try printing the dialogue says printing commenced and printing completed! But nothing has happened.
hp-check.log shows: error: Unable to communicate with device (code=12): hpfax:/usb/HP_Officejet_Pro_8610?serial=CN55SF30KJ
error: Device not found
error: Communication status: Failed
