officejet k850dn printer error

Linux Mint 17.1

HP OfficeJet K850dn

Printer installed OK. Sent a test print, printer responds, paper loads, as the printer starts to print the ink color lights and the missing ink cartride light all start frashing and the printer becomes un-responsive and must be power cycled.

Have deleted and reinstalled the printer with the same results.

Prints ok from windows 7 OS.
