1. Your Linux Distribution and version.

Ubuntu 14.04 with an xubuntu desktop

2. Your printer make/model.

HP laserjet enterprise 500 MFP m525

3. If possible, run 'hp-check -t' and post the output.

4. A detailed explanation of your problem.

I can print to the printer over the network from ubuntu. I

have the HP Linux driver installed and these steps have been

performed:

i.e.

install-hp-printer

a. How do you setup the scan to file function.

b. What is C-Drive in Ubuntu 14.04? Is "File System" the C-

Drive? It appears to be "File System". And, if so, do I make

my scan folder there?

c. Thats owned by root and I dont have access to root. I'm only

going to have one common profile so can I make a folder in that

profile and scan to it?

d. What is the file "UNC" path to the scan folder? I need to

know where to place my scan folder in ubuntu and what to input

into the printer to get it to scan. What rights / previllages

do I give the folder if any. How do I setup the printers scan

function from its console?

5. Steps to recreate the problem.

scanner path was inputted:

Hi,
Unfortunately HPLIP does not support 'Scan to Folder' Functionality, hence support is limited. However there is a knowledge base article in our website. Please visit http://hplipopensource.com/node/334 for details.

Sorry for the inconvenience

Thanks and Regards
