installing HP CLP-300 printer

Asked by Shane

To start I am fairly new to Linux.
I wanted to install HPlip-GUI to manage my HP CPL-300 printer and I am not finding it in the list of printers.
Is there another printer that can be selected in place?
What I'm trying to do is make this a network printer so that we can get off of the Windows print server I have running.
I'm running Ubuntu 12.04.

I am not aware that HP sells a printer with a type identification "CLP-300". This looks much more to be the Samsung naming standard.

Please provide the exact make and model identification from the type label of the printer.

Can you help with this problem?

Provide an answer of your own, or ask Shane for more information if necessary.
