cups Officejet_Pro_8600.ppd won't allow duplex printing

Hello when setting up Office Jet Pro 8600 in CUPS, it will not allow Duplex printing in USA Letter size paper.

How do I change the values or get a better /etc/cups/ppd/Officejet_Pro_8600.ppd file?

I can set the Default Options to Duplexer Installed but when I change to put Default to Duplex, short side, 8.5 by 11 in, it gives me error saying that I cannot do that.

Hi David,

This bug is similar to the bug https://bugs.launchpad.net/hplip/+bug/1352316.
Can you please take a look at the workaround provided by sanjay.

Let us know if the issue still exist.

Someone should let the maintainers of the ppd files know that the ppd file is wrong.

Here is my file modified and it now works.
