CP1025 stops printing job halfway or repeats printing job
Just wondering if anyone else has experienced this.
Using the CP1025 on Linux Mint Maya with HPLIP.
About half the time it works fine.
The other half of the time, it can print several pages out of a job, then stops. The printer light continues to flash as if it's receiving data, but nothing happens no matter how long you wait.
The only solution has been to restart both computer and printer, and start printing a new job. Sometimes it quits halfway into the new job too, requiring yet another restart etc.
Occasionally it prints a job fine, then starts reprinting the same job again, wasting paper, and I have to unplug the printer to stop this.
Any thoughts would be appreciated!
EDIT: Still having same problem.

Hi,
Sorry for the delayed reply.
Please try the following steps:
1. Download and install latest HPLIP release from http://
2. Remove all print queues using command "hp-setup -r"
3. Configure the device using "hp-setup" command
4. Try printing now.
If the problem is not resolved, send us the logs generated using command "hp-logcapture"
Thanks and Regards
Ani Balakrishnan

Hi there,
I have followed the steps in 1-4 but not noticed any improvement since.
I had problems printing a 70 page document yesterday (it took about 6 restarts to completely print).
When I tried "hp-logcapture", I got the following response:
euroflora@amber ~ $ hp-logcapture
error: logCapture needs root permissions since cups service restart requires....
euroflora@amber ~ $ ^C
Many thanks in advance
Duncan

Hi there,
yes I can print a test page from the HP Device Manager without any problems.
I am printing from Firefox 12.0 (for Linux Mint 1.0), and didn't have any problems using their software with other printers and their associated drivers (Xerox and Epson).
I have attached the file to the link given here:

many thanks in advance

Any idea on this?
Been putting up with the problem for almost 3 months now, and am ready to ditch Linux altogether and go back to XP.
many regards,
