Support for HP Photosmart C8180

Paul,

The HP Photosmart C8180 is supported by HPLIP, however for some reason this model is missing from our data. I've added the model to HPLIP and if you add this section to the file

/usr/share/hplip/data/models/models.dat

Locate the section with the heading; [photosmart_c8100_series] and replace the entire section with the code below. Save the file, exit, run hp-setup and you should be printing. This is fixed in the next release of hplip as well the support documents will provide the correct information.

As a new owner of an HP Photosmart C8180 All-in-one, the simple answer is YES.

I cannot vouch for all the functions as of today(14/5/2008) but at least for simple printing it works fine.

I have yet to explore the scanning functions, but hope to as I learn more about the system(Linux) as it is all a bit new to me, I hope to work out how to run the scanning function.

On this score, if anyone else can give some detailed instruction of how to get to the scanning function with this particular printer, it would be welcome.
