Change default resolution of HP LaserJet P1606dn

Hello guys,

I've seen a huge difference between the way this printer works with Windows Xp and Linux Mint 17 (in Xp it has more fine resolution).

I tried to change the printer resolution via the properties window, but there is no way to change it. Reading te ppd file, it only has a reference of 1200x600 and 600x600 but it doesn't matter if I change it to 1200x1200, because there is no improvement of the printed pages.

I work with vectorial graphics, some very tiny, that's why I need the printer to work at its bigger resolution. Printing the same file in Windows, it has more resolution and more details than in linux. In linux, the fonts are somehow twisted.

All my work is done in linux and I really don't want to return to windows just to print my jobs.

Is there a way to change the resolution?

Also, is there a way to add other media than the default paper (bond, transparencies, etc.)?

My system is Linux Mint 17 Qiana with Mate DE

I change this orders:
*ColorDevice: True ---> False
*DefaultColorSpace: RGB ---> Gray
and
*OutputMode Normal/Normal: "<</OutputType(0)/HWResolution[1200 600]>>setpagedevice" ---> to 1200 1200

But nothing changed, in the Printer Properties window -> Work options, the printer resolution is always 300x300dpi.
