HPLIP

hp 2540 injet all in one works but not scanner. Please help

I bought a injet 2540 HP version printer copier scanner. I downloaded HPlip . the printer works and will print from the internet and copy but i cannot get the scanner utility to come up and i cannot scan. I think i must have errased something. Please help this is going on about 4 months and i need to get moving. Love linux mint. Virginia White <email address hidden>

Hi,

To analyze the issue, please do the following:

1. Download and install latest HPLIP from http://hplipopensource.com/hplip-web/index.html, if your Linux distribution supports auto installation or from http://hplipopensource.com/hplip-web/install/manual/index.html(manual installation)
2. Remove print queue using 'hp-setup -r' command and configure it using 'hp-setup' command
3. Try scanning now
4. If scanning still does not work, please post the output of 'hp-check -t' command here.

Hi Ani, Thanks for the help. My computer will only let me save the HPLIP file and I tried to choose run but it would not accept. When I tried to open it after saving it it would not open. Any suggestions? Virginia
