Change the default installation place

Asked by Jurek OGOREK

Hi,

Thank you so much for HPlip it's just perfect.
I'm running Fedora 20 (Mate Desktop) everything works smooth.

I just have one question : how to change the default installation place folder ?
I've choosen the automatic and manual installation and the wizard do not ask me for the installation folder...

I'm sorry about that question but I really don't want to hplip installs to my home folder (there're already too much folders).
I'd like to install it to home/Public/hplip but don't know how and don't have enough linux knowlodge... Is there a way ?

PS : If I hide the folder with a "." will it still work ?

Thanks again !

Hi,

I solved the problem. In fact it was a permission (chmod) problem on the hplip.run file.
As soon as I applied a chmod 700 on it, the installation went smooth.

I launched the hplip.run in /home/Public/build/hplip/ and the script created a folder exactly in the same place making everything very clean. Thanks.
