Can't do duplex scanning

Asked by Alexsander Farias de Oliveira

I'm using Debian Wheezy (64bits) with a HP Deskjet Pro 8600 Plus but I can't do duplex scanning. Everytime I try it with xsane or with scanimage, only the first page is scanned. The printer reloads the paper to scan the other side, but it can't send it to the computer.

That's my hp-check:

supplied package (.deb, .rpm, etc) or an already built HPLIP supplied tarball

will check both of the above cases (both compile- and run-time dependencies).

Hi,

Can you try below steps and let us know if issue is resolved or not?
=> Download and install the latest HPLIP release from
http://hplipopensource.com/hplip-web/install/install/index.html (automatic installer) or
http://hplipopensource.com/hplip-web/install/manual/index.html (manual installation, if automatic installer does not work)

=> Reconfigure print queue using below commands.
       => hp-setup -r (remove all print queues)
       => hp-setup
=>Try printing/scanning now.

Hey

First of all, I would like to thank you for your attention.

Well, I installed the new driver but it didn't solve the problem. Here's the new hp-check:

Hi Alex,

Sorry for the delay in response. You must specify the number of pages to Scan in Xsane to perform duplex scanning. Suppose if you are feeding single page in ADF to perform Duplex Scan, you must set number of pages to scan as 2. Please try this and let us know.

Thanks and Regards,
Srikanth Lokare
