USB auto scan when sheet in ADF

Asked by Hans Schou

Is it possible to automaticly start scanning when a pile of sheets has been placed in the ADF on a HP OfficeJet 4622, which is attached with an USB cable?

This page says that it possible to do it with at network printer.

Just poll http://your.printer.ip.address/hp/device/notifications.xml and look for (ADFLoaded).

On this page it says that there is a embeded web server in the 4622

How can I get access to the embedded web server on the USB cable?

From this image it seems like it is possible to get a notification when the (StartScan) button is pressed.

But (ADFLoaded) notification would be even better. In this way you can grab a load of papers and start feeding without pushing any buttons.

You need to run 'xsane' and then start scanning. Without manual intervention(at least pressing 'start' button), scan won't happen automatically.

Can you help with this problem?
