HP p1102 prints slow

Asked by IbraM

Printer HP p1102 slowly starts to print. Sometimes it doesn't start to print. Under win7 (with HP official drivers) when I press Ctrl+P (for example in Libre Office) then OK - printer starts to print immediatly. Under Xubuntu 12.04 with hplip there should left some time before the printer starts to print. Sometimes I get just created print task in xubuntu - nothing more, no errors, no print. I tried to wait about 5 min but nothing happened. What the reason of such behaviour?
Connected via usb.
There is 'hp-check -t' output http://pastebin.com/JSymEAiQ The command was running with printer turned off.
/var/log/cups/error_log after cleaning and trying to print (result: printed after about 15 seconds of waiting) http://pastebin.com/HvWhmBWU

Hi IbraM,

Apology for delayed response .

Can you please provide more information on this issue.
Do you see the same behaviour when testpage is printed though "hp-testpage" command ?
Also can you try upgrading hplip package. Please download the latest hplip 3.14.4 from http://hplipopensource.com/hplip-web/gethplip.html and installing using command "sh hplip-3.14.4.run"

Do you see the same behaviour on the latest hplip ?

Regards,
Goutam
