My printer works fine now but the fax part of the HP Officejet 4500 does not show up in the HPLIP Device Manager or the HPLIP Fax Utility. Where it needs to or not I do not know. Please advise.

Hi,

During HP officejet 4500 setup two queues will be created (Note: If you haven't diselected fax queue).

In Device manager you can see two queue. One queue supports print, scan and another queue supports Fax.

For example:
HP_officejet_4500, HP_officejet_4500_fax. In these HP_officejet_4500 queue supports Print and Scan etc functionality. HP_officejet_4500_fax queue supports Fax.

If you can't see two queues, remove the existing queues and reconfigure queues
       => hp-setup -r (===>remove all queues)
       => hp-setup (===>setup queues again)
       =>Try printing now.

Thanks & Regards,
Amarnath

Since my question, I had to reinstall Ubuntu 12.04.03 but now HPLIP will not detect my wireless HP 4500. So I connected it with the USB cable. I can live with that but it should detect it via wireless connection.
