HP LaserJet Pro M1212nf not showing up in HPLIP on Ubuntu 10.04 LTS

HP LaserJet Pro M1212nf

When the printer is plugged in via USB the ubuntu printer set up starts but can't find the specific driver needed to make it work. Opening HPLIP says that no printers are connected via USB (even though it definitely is). I tried to update HPLIP but I am not well versed in terminal that I can make the new HPLIP 3.10.5? install.
