Hi Jose,

Can you open "system-config-printer" dialogue and delete the existing print queues in it and re-configure your device using "hp-setup -g" command.

Provide us the command line output of this command and if the issue is still same run command "hp-logcapture" and provide us its log files.

Thanks,
Goutam

Now I can print, see the status of the printer, see the level of ink in the printer cartridges, see the printer settings, print a test page.

But I can't scan a document, I get the error : Fail to scan , unable to connet to scanner

Also with the xsane I get the error : Failed to open device hpaio:/usb/OfficeJet_G55?serial=SGC0410WQLVL. Invalid argument.

Rebooting the computer and power off and on again the printer does not change anything. The error is still the same.
Anyway, I have a Gufw Firewall installed and everything that cames in is blocked. Everything that goes to outside does not have any restriction.

Is this an when a run the xsane, skanlitle, simple-scan. Should I create any roule on the iptables for this ?

on the screen I got this messeges

simple-scan on 45131 UDP
simple-scan on 41783 UDP

xsane on 36841 UDP
xsane on 36421 UDP

skanlitle on 8610 UDP
skanlitle on 8611 UDP

simple-scan on 8610 UDP
simple-scan on 8611 UDP

I suppose there is a problem with the construction of a command line in a program. When I give the command in the terminal, I get the desired file scan. I think the problem is a programming error in one of the utilities hp. The other programs are using a line that is poorly constructed, which is why they can not do the scan

Hi,

If you have getting the "Invalid argument" error using xsane utility, this issue might be due to some options setting.

1) Set the scan area as follows:-
Click xsnae --> Window --> "Show advanced options".
     Set "Top-left X" and "Top-left Y" values as 0.
Set "Bottom-right X" and "Bottom-right Y" values as MAX using slider.

--> Try scan operation.

Thanks & Regards,
Amarnath

How I can run the xsane and go directly to the window where I can change the values before the xsane try to find the scaner ?

Can you help with this problem?
