HPLIP

Any chance to use the scanner of CM1017MFP?

Printing works so far.
But Sane is not recognizing the scanner at all. Is there a chance to access the scanner or will there be a special driver for the build in scanner in the Color Laser Jet CM1017MFP soon?
I am using Ubuntu 7.10 64 bit and hate to fire up windows for any occasion.
I havn't messed around so far because I am absolute new to linux.

Any help is appreciated.

There are limitations which hinder us on providing this support at this time. Although it is on our todo list and we are actively researching removing these limitations--until then we can't say for sure if/when we will be able to add this support.
