HPLIP

Scanner HP CM1312 MFP worked flawlessly, untill upgrade from Ubuntu 12.10 to 13.04. After upgrade ´unable to connect to scanner´, but work well with win 8 under virtualbox.

Using hplip as before the ubuntu upgrade.

/var/log/syslog gives me some info:

I tried to "install the required plugin" from the HP device manager to no help.

If I boot on windows I can scan without any problem. So the printer/scanner is fine.

Hi,

Can you try below steps and see if issue is resolved.

1) Try below command in the terminal.
$hp-doctor

2) If that does not solve your problem then try below steps.
=> Download and install the latest HPLIP release from
http://hplipopensource.com/hplip-web/install/install/index.html (automatic installer)

=> Reconfigure print queue with the commands in the terminal as mentioned below.
       => system-config-printer (remove all print queues)
      => sudo hp-plugin (This will download right plugin)
       => hp-setup (It should not be run in a root mode. This command is adding print queue, make sure you select ppd name having "-ps" or "hpcups" substring)
=>Try printing/scanning now.

The new Hplip version (3.13.8) solved the problem. Nevertheless the existing .sane/xsane files have to be deleted after the update (hplip will recreate them automatically). Thank you for your help
