HPLIP-3.13.6 goes away when system is shut-down

Asked by Gerald Brown

I have ran the hplip-3.13.6.run for the last 4 days because every day when I restart my system it will not print.

I have a HP Touchsmart 600 system with a 64 bit CPU. I am running Ubuntu 13.04. I have a HP Laserjet 1020.

How can I make hplip stick so I don't have to re-install it every day?

Thanks.

Hi Gerald Brown,

Which printer you are using?

Can you try following commands just after restart:

$ hp-doctor
--> If problem is not solved, provide us the logs by running following command

$ su -c "hp-logcapture"
--> attach logs by creating bug report.

Thanks & Regards,
Amarnath

I'm using a HP Laserjet 1020 on a HP TouchSmart 600 All-In-One system
running Ubuntu 13.04.

When I ran "hp-doctor" it said that there was a newer version available
"3.13.7" so I ran that. Will have to see tomorrow if that has fixed the
problem when I reboot my system.

It was working OK with "3.13.5" and I started having the problems when I
upgraded to "3.13.6". Hopefully .7 will have fixed the problem.

Will let you know tomorrow if the problem is fixed or not.

Thanks,

Gerald Brown

I installed 3.13.7 and so far it has solved my problem.
