Ubuntu 12.04(32bit) HP 5520 scanner not detected, but prints just fine

I am running Ubuntu 12.04 and trying to get the scannner on my hp 5520 all in one to work. The printer has always worked just fine. I got HPLIP and it doesn't even detect the printer, though the printer utililty does. I found a soulution for the 64 bit system but it did not work.
I am very new to this but I ran some things throught the terminal that I saw in the troubleshoot for the 64 bit.

'sane-find-scanner' gives
 found USB scanner (vendor=0x03f0 [HP], product=0xb111 [Photosmart 5520 series]) at libusb:001:010

'scanimage -L' gives
No scanners were identified. If you were expecting something different,
check that the scanner is plugged in, turned on and detected by the
sane-find-scanner tool (if appropriate). Please read the documentation
which came with this software (README, FAQ, manpages).

'hp-check -t' gives
