says it is printing and completed printing, but nothing prints.

I have Linux Mint 13 Maya Cinnamon. HP Deskjet 2512. The computer reconizes the printer and it is installed as the default printer, when I try to print a test page it says printing, and then I get another notification saying printing completed, however nothing prints!

 The output of hp-check -t is: warning: Qt/PyQt 4 initialization failed.
error: hp-systray requires Qt4 GUI and DBus support. Exiting.
warning: Unable to connect to dbus. Is hp-systray running?
error: Unsupported model: Deskjet_2510_series

error: User needs to be member of group 'lp' to enable print, scan & fax.
User member of group 'lpadmin'.

Hi Felicia,

From above logs, seems like Qt4 is not installed properly. Follow below steps.

--> run hp-doctor command (Note:- in older hplip versions, this command mayn't be found).
$ hp-doctor

(or)

--> install HPLIP as mentioned in http://hplipopensource.com/hplip-web/install/install/index.html site.

Hi,

When I type in hp-doctor it says "command not found". I did install hplip-3.13.5.run, when i try to installl it in the terminal it says " no such file or directory". I type in the command the instructions show on the page ~/desktop sh hplip-3.13.5.run. I'm new to linux, so not sure if I am doing this correctly. I would appreciate any suggestions you could give!

Hi,

Download hplip-3.13.6.run from http://prdownloads.sourceforge.net/hplip/hplip-3.13.6.run to ~/Desktop folder. And run the commands as mentioned in http://hplipopensource.com/hplip-web/install/install/index.html

$ cd ~/Desktop
$ sh hplip-3.13.6.run
