Additional Option for Printer-Dry Time

Asked by Samuel Suther

Is there a known option to send for increment the pause time between dubplex-print (to get some time for the ink to dry) ?

On my linux-Printer-Settings i have a field "Send additional Options to Printer" I would try to send such a command to the printer.

Hi Sameul,

Sorry to inform you that we dont provide support for dry time in HPLIP as it is now supported in most of the HP printer front pannel.

However you can try the workaround mentioned in:

Thanks,
Sanjay

8 years later:

My ENVY 5544 does not support dry time via HP display front pannel.
I have tried out the workaround from your link. With some help I was able to make a patched HPLIP3.19.6 version .
But there is no difference now. The dry time is still always 2 seconds. My prints smears.

It's a pity.

Can you help with this problem?
