Support for LaserJet 1120M MFP-Series

Asked by c_t

Will the relatively new MFP's from the "HP LaserJet M1120 MFP-Series" be supported in the near future (and can you already guess when this well be)? There are two models:
M1120 MFP (CB537A)
M1120N MFP (CC459A) (with LAN-Support)

I'm planning to buy one of these but linux-support is very essential to me. Thanks in advance for the great work you are doing with HPLIP!

Christoph,

We will be providing support for the LaserJet 1120M MFP Series sometime in the future. Although I'm sorry to say that I can't provide any ETA.

All the best and thanks for your support!

OK, that's really nice to hear! I hope I will get that MFP at least to print in some way under linux in the meantime... Anyway, I will order it now ;)

If I can provide you with any more information that will help you with developing the driver, please just let me know.

Thanks!

Christoph

Hello!
I already own the LaserJet M1120 MFP and got it working with "foo2zjs" (http://foo2zjs.rkkda.com/).
I used the LaserJet 1020 foo2zjs-Driver, set it to 600x600 DPI and now my M1120 is just printing fine :)
"Björn Abheiden" brought me on this idea (https://answers.launchpad.net/hplip/+question/23579).

Now I'm only waiting for Scanning-Support ;)

Greetings

"I have just bought the HP Laserjet M1120n MFP and was afraid that for Linux it would prove to be dead in the water after all.

After Ubuntu 7.10 already proved capable of printing (both USB and network) I installed
      http://foo2xqx.rkkda.com
on my regular Slackware 12.0 distro.

It works like a charm (printing at least, I'll figure out if I can use the scanner later).

"LIFE SAFER",
I have donated.
(And if you read this and find this helpful, you should to)."

"The scanner is supported by the hpljm1005 backend in SANE CVS" - anonymous

"And the scanner indeed also works. (After the proper USB id's have been inserted into the SANE code)."

Great! This SANE-Backend really works perfectly!
I only had to change the PID in the Source-Code (0x5717 to 0x5617). I already submitted a bug-report for that and it will get changed.

With today's SVN-Snapshot of SANE-Backend the scanner is recognized and scanning works fine, however only over USB and not over the network of course! I'm really looking forward to having scanning-over-LAN support with HPLIP in the future!

Printing over network and USB works perfectly as well using the abovementioned foo2zjs-driver (the one for HP 1020).
