HP-wificonfig-HP-Deskjet 3510

Asked by peter HIll

First off I never post any quistion about problems before becouse most times I can solve them.
What I have is
0/S Unuto 12.10 32 bit
Just installed the hplib-3.13 becouse the older version did not suport the printer any how after fixing all the little bugs in the program. The printer works.
Well works on the USB cable
But the wifi does not work, maybe I missed that part if it supports it or not.
Any how when I look at my wifi manager the printer shows up HP so the printer is sending a single out .
But on wifi config with all the wifi singles the HP printer wifi does not show up.

Note: hp-check can be run in three modes:
1. Compile-time check mode (-c or --compile): Use this mode before compiling the HPLIP supplied tarball (.tar.gz or .run) to determine if the
proper dependencies are installed to successfully compile HPLIP.
2. Run-time check mode (-r or --run): Use this mode to determine if a distro supplied package (.deb, .rpm, etc) or an already built HPLIP
supplied tarball has the proper dependencies installed to successfully run.
3. Both compile- and run-time check mode (-b or --both) (Default): This mode will check both of the above cases (both compile- and run-time
dependencies).

Check types:
a. EXTERNALDEP - External Dependencies
b. GENERALDEP - General Dependencies (required both at compile and run time)
c. COMPILEDEP - Compile time Dependencies
d. [All are run-time checks]

How does that help me?
If your talking about me pluging in the usb cable on set up .

Well that is how they ask you to set up
Under HP Device manager Wifi
You must have the USB first pluged in

My printer does not show up but all the hot spots on my block do.
The wifi shows up under my systems wifi manager but not HP
grrr

Hi,

Can you try following things and check if issue gets resolved.

=> Download and install the latest HPLIP release from
http://hplipopensource.com/hplip-web/install/install/index.html (automatic installer)

=> Reconfigure print queue with the commands in the terminal mentioned below.
=> system-config-printer (remove all print queues)
=> hp-setup -g (It should not be run in a root mode.)

(If wifi setup fails then please paste the terminal output of the "hp-setup -g" command here.

Hi Peter HIll,

From above logs, seems all wireless networks detected, Is any error happend after this message?
If not, now select the WIfi network for which wifi network needs to be connected.

Steps to configure the HP Printer/Device using Wifi:-

1) run hp-setup to assign wifi IP to Printer

$ hp-setup -g
--> select 3rd Option (Wireless/Wifi .. ) and select the printer needs to configured.
--> Select the Wifi router (follow navigation) to assign the IP address.
--> At the end, UI displays IP Address

2) Now run hp-setup using IP address
$ hp-setup <IP Address shown on UI>

Thanks & Regards,
Amarnath
