cross-compiling HPLIP: only sane backend needed

Asked by Peter Meiser

Hi,

I try to cross-compile HPLIP to use the SANE backend on a MIPS platform.
The problem is that the configure script wants CUPS and python as a dependency.

Are these really needed to compile the SANE backend? Would it be possible to have a "--disable-cups-build" and/or a "--enable-scan-only-build" configure option?

Thanks for your help,
Whoopie

We've added this to our "todo" list. Although I can't say for sure if/when this will be completed, we agree that it would be a nice to have feature.

Sorry for the delay.

Aaron
