7500A Wide Format e-All-in-One Printer - E910a

Asked by Tom Baxter

Cannot find the above printer on the supported list and wonder if it is due to be included in future updates. There is support for an E910 (without the "a" designation) and wonder if it might work with the printer we have.

Thanks

Hi,

I think Linux Driver for E910 and E910a is same. Can you try following things?

=> Download and install the latest HPLIP release from
http://hplipopensource.com/hplip-web/install/install/index.html (automatic installer) or
http://hplipopensource.com/hplip-web/install/manual/index.html (manual installation, if automatic installer does not work)

=> run "hp-check --fix" command in the terminal if manual installation is done

=> Reconfigure print queue with the commands in the terminal mentioned below.
       => system-config-printer (remove all print queues)
      => su -c "hp-plugin"
             or
      => sudo hp-plugin (This will download right plugin)
       => hp-setup (It should not be run in a root mode. This command is adding print queue, make sure you select ppd name having "-ps" or "hpcups" substring)
=>Try printing now.

Thanks Sanjay,
This solved the problem.
We previously had hplip version 3.12.2 running under Ubuntu 12.04. This upgraded hplip to version 3.12.11 and the printer was detected via the network wireless system and installed without difficulty including the fax and scanner etc.
