fatal error: :hplip-install
I'm trying to install hplip on a Fedora 3 OS system. I took the automatic install options. At the end I get this message in red:
fatal error: :hplip-install
I tried the custom install, using a simple, single function configuration, and I got the same error.
For grins, I logged in as root ("su root") and typed "make install". It seemed to not complain. I don't know if it is installed though.
My printer is a new Photosmart C7280. It works just fine over wireless from Windows XP. I can acess the Web interface (192.168.200.6) from the Linux box web browser. I just want to print simple one-way documents (PDFs, etc.) from Linux. I had a Deskjet 960c printer that was network-connected via a simple Hawking parallel-
1. How can make Linux aware of this wireless-
2. How can I know if hplip or hpijs is installed?
3. How can I launch or start these applications above?
Any other general suggestions?
