Hello Kenny,

Please follow the following steps as a workaround since release got delayed for few more days.
1) Download auto-installer file (hplip-3.12.10a.run) to some location. e.g ~/Download
2) Install HPLIP using auto installer
3) hplip-3.12.10a directory will be created in ~/Downloads directory. Replace "12.04" with "12.10" in installer/distros.dat file inside hplip-3.12.10a directory
4) Open terminal and change directory to ~/Download/hplip-3.12.10a
5) Now run following 3 commands
      a) ./configure --prefix=/usr (for 32 bit OS)
         ./configure --prefix=/usr --libdir=/usr/lib64 (for 64bit OS)
      b) make
      c) make install

=> Reconfigure print queue with the commands in the terminal mentioned below.
       => system-config-printer (remove all print queues)
      => su -c "hp-plugin"
             or
      => sudo hp-plugin (This will download right plugin)
       => hp-setup (It should not be run in a root mode. This command is adding print queue, make sure you select ppd name having "-ps" or "hpcups" substring)
=>Try printing now.

Hi,

Ubuntu 12.10 is now supported in HPLIP-3.12.11. Please download and install the latest HPLIP release from
       http://hplipopensource.com/hplip-web/install/install/index.html (automatic installer) or
       http://hplipopensource.com/hplip-web/install/manual/index.html (manual installation, if automatic installer does not work)

=> run "hp-check --fix" command in the terminal if manual installation is done

=> Reconfigure print queue with the commands in the terminal mentioned below.
       => system-config-printer (remove all print queues)
      => su -c "hp-plugin"
             or
      => sudo hp-plugin (This will download right plugin)
       => hp-setup (It should not be run in a root mode. This command is adding print queue, make sure you select ppd name having "-ps" or "hpcups" substring)
=>Try printing now.
