My Hp laserjet 3055 Scanner won't work

Asked by James T

I have Ubuntu 12.04 LTS and a HP Laserjet 3055 Printer.

I installed Hplip-3.12.9 and then discovered that Ubuntu had already installed printer drivers.

When I looked into System Settings>>Printing>>local-host I found duplicate devices. There were two printers and two faxes....but no scanners. I deleted the second printer and second fax and tested the printer. It prints fine...no problems (I don't use a fax)

But there is no scanner drivers or device that I can find. I need the scanner.

I am pasting below, the output I got when I ran "hp-check -t" in the terminal.

Please help. Thank you.

James

Hello James,

You can scan using any of the following methods.
1) Run "hp-toolbox" command in the terminal and then select scan option.
2) Manually invoke xsane
3) Run "hp-scan" command in the terminal.

Thanks,
Sanjay
