Each time I power on the Laserjet 1018 the system asks for install the driver plug-in

Asked by Jaime Garcia

Hello!
I have Ubuntu 10.04 amd64 and a Laserjet 1018. I completed the installation of the HPLIP 3.12.6 DMV 15.0 (Qt4) and each time I power on the printer the system asks for install the driver plug-in. How I can stop the continuous emission of that message?
Thank you
Jaime

Hi Jaime Garcia,

Generally install plug-in pop-up comes when HP printer plug-in files are not installed in the PC.
If it is not installed, please install same.

If it is install but still pop-up is coming please provide following information.

1) contents of /var/lib/hp/hplip.state file.
$ cat /var/lib/hp/hplip.state

2) plug-in files presence.
$ ls -l /usr/share/hplip/prnt/plugins/*
$ ls -l /usr/share/hplip/scan/plugins/*
$ ls -l /usr/share/hplip/fax/plugins/*

Thanks & Regards,
Amarnath
