unable to install hplip-3.12.4.run - linux mint 13
Hello - hoping to fix a scanning problem w/ Linux Mint 13.

Ive managed to install the printer successfully via the Mint GUI and am able to print w/out trouble but the os does not recognize the scanner as available (from Simple Scan: 'No scanners detected'). Oddly enough Mint 11 recognized both the printer and the scanner functions and worked fine. In attempting to correct the prob the HP site directed me to 'http://

I checked the package manager and found that I do in fact have the 'gcc' dependency installed. Uninstalled and reinstalled it w/ the same results.
