How to enter a pause in the fax number

Asked by Willy

My fax is behind a PBX. So I need to get the line with a 0 then pause until I get the line, and continue to dial after my Officejet get the line signal. Therefore I need to tell the Officejet to wait for some time after the initial 0. How can I define such a delay in the address book entry?

Regards
Willy

Willy? Which printer do you have? With the Photosmart 3310 a "-" creates a pause during the dialing process. Although your printer may be different so I'll want to verify with your printer model.

Aaron,

"-" works fine with the HP Officejet 7310.

Thank you

Could this feature be documented?

At least I didn't find it in the documentation on http://hplip.sourceforge.net/

What does a '-' exactly do?

Does a fax number like "0-123" rellay pause until it gets the line
or does the '-' just wait/sleep for e.g. one second?

In case of the latter, would a fax number like "0---123-456"
dial the '0' and wait three seconds,
then dial "123" and wait one second
and finally dial "456"?
